Four things you must believe to become a Christian and to truly know Jesus Christ as your Savior
1. We are all sinners.
Romans 3:10, 12, 23 "For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God."
2. We are separated from God by our sin.
Romans 6:23, John 3:36 "For the wages of sin is death,..." (separation from God) "He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him."
3. Christ died on the cross for our sin.
Romans 5:8 "But God commendeth (shows) his love toward us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." (God placed our sins on Jesus and His punishment and death substitutes for our punishment and death). He was raised from the dead on the third day!
4. Christ will save us from our sin and its penalty
If we believe Him and receive Him as our Savior. Acts 16:30-31, Romans 10:9-10 "...What must I do to be saved? And they said, 'Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved,...'" "For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
God invites you to become a Christian by receiving His Son Jesus as the sacrifice for your sin. Does this prayer express the desire of your heart? If it does, pray right now, and God will save you-
"Dear God, I know that I have sinned, and need your forgiveness. I believe Jesus died on the cross to forgive me. I receive Jesus as the only way to salvation. I am willing to turn away from my sins (repentance) and turn to Jesus as my Savior and Lord (faith). Please forgive me for my sins and give me eternal life through Jesus' blood, death, and resurrection. By faith, I receive and believe in Jesus for my eternal life. Thank you for forgiving me and giving me eternal life.
In Jesus name, Amen."
